Quick answer

Build the smallest working version first, confirm that inputs stay supplied and outputs keep moving, then scale. Alchemy Factory rewards visible, modular logistics more than clever but fragile spaghetti routing.

Support exists, details vary

Multiplayer support is part of the game. A complete current list of dedicated-server flags is not confirmed here.

Verify the current port and build

Before opening firewall rules, confirm the port and server build documentation for the exact current version.

Back up saves

Treat server migration and major-version updates like infrastructure changes: make a copy of the world/save first.

Avoid copied command lines

Do not paste an old Early Access launch command simply because it appears in a forum. Check each parameter against current official documentation.

What the v1.1 update fixed for hosts

From the October 16, 2026 update (v1.1.5023):

  • Sleep Time now applies on dedicated servers — before this build the attribute had no effect there.
  • Multiplayer now shows a warning when a very large number of items is placed at once, because the operation may fail; split oversized paste or build actions into batches.

Troubleshooting checklist

  1. Confirm the current patch and unlock state.
  2. Inspect the upstream input before rebuilding the output side.
  3. Check for full storage, blocked belts, or an empty support resource.
  4. Test one module in isolation.
  5. Scale only after the isolated module stays stable.
